Car history: |
This is a #'s matching 1976 Corvette that I have proudly owned for the last 16 years. I am the second owner having purchased the car after it was traded in by original owner. Car had 73,000 miles on it when I purchased in July 22 1996 (still have the temporary tag). I paid $6,000 for the car at the time. Car was in very good shape and was driven as purchased for the next 2 years. At approximatelt 84,000 miles in 1999 the engine and tranny were both pulled and rebuilt, the engine received a mild cam but other than that it was internally left stock except for bigger valves on the heads. Car received a new 160 speedo and odometer upon engine replacement and now shows approx 24,000 actual miles on the super smooth running 350. Engine compartment is extremely detailed and clean. Tons of chromed accesories. I have put $1,500 worth of Ecklers chrome hood hardware on the car (latches, support, etc). Has a chrome hood grill also as well as chrome headlight actuator covers. Hoses are steel braided. Chrome alternator, water pump pulleys etc. Most engine hardware is stainless. Mr gasket polished hood scoop with working butterflies. Evreything has been disassembled over the years and painstakingly finished and detailed. This has the cleanest and most detailed Vette wiper cowl you will ever see. Exterior was repainted the original silver in PPG base/clear in late 99 / early 2000. Still shows very nicely with a deep gloss but has acquired a few small blems over time. The passenger side headlight bucket had broken a spring around 2002 and chip the front deck when it came up, the small chips were repaired and the area blended in. Well over the years now the blend has become darker silver than the surrounding area...its not terrible but I just want to be honest. I will try to show in the pics. In 2006 I stripped the complete interior down to the wiring harness (I worked at a Corvette Only Restoration shop at the time.). ALL gauges were rebuilt including a new quartz clock assembly. All gauge lenses replaced, bezels polished and refinished. Seats were stripped, tracks media blasted and painted before being covered with new foam and new correct seat skins, all new hardware was used in putting the seats back together. Interior was completely fiberglassed before installing a complete heat shield kit under the new factory correct carpet and jute. Has $150 Lloyds embroidered STINGRAY mats. ALL door hardware and chrome, dash vents, dash bulbs, door pins have been replaced. Interior looks like new and cost me thousands in cash minus my labor. There is a custom professional speaker box hidden in the rear storage area containing 2 Blaupunkt 12" Subs powered by a Rockford Fosgate amp. Head unit is a drop down removable face JVC 300 watt CD unit with MP3 capability. Stereo has remote controll also and you can program it to display pictures. All hidden out of sight with seperate mids and highs, yet still room to put the t- tops in. Dash speakers are Blaupunkt also. Windows are tinted and power (new switches there too). New center console, e brake console and shifter plate. Again, VERY clean and original looking interior. Even the optional rear view mirror with map light was restored. Basically EVERY part of this interior is new down to the stainless door sills and screws. Car has an excellent rust proof frame and perfect kick ups. This is a ZERO hit body, spottless clean wheel wells and perfectly intact factory bonding strips. Body is super straight, excellent body lines and fitment. Original factory glass. Factory Stainless Steel lower rockers had the raw mill finished removed and polished to a chrome like finished and re-installed with all new stainless hardware. I recently installed all NEW not rebuilt 4 piston powder coated (Chevy orange) calipers with dust free Organic racing pads. Also installed stainless brake hoses at the time, along with a rebuilt brake booster and a new OEM master cylinder. Has 1 1/4" performance sway bar with eurathane end links that are adjustable. Car has factory A/C that blows cool not cold as it needs a recharge, I have not done so as I have been planning on installing a new Chrome A6 compressor that I bought. (Included with Buy It Now option only). Car runs, drives and shifts great. Has Staggered 17" Eagle wheels with Z rated tires with about 2,000 miles on both . Car has 2 sets of tops, the 1 piece solid smoked top shown, and the factory T tops that are in very good sahpe (matching liners and ext. paint.) I'm sure there are MANY more small details that have been done over the years that I can't even remember. I truly hate to part with her after 15+ years but I have a daughter in College and need to finance a new bike project. Please feel free to call me with any questions, I can tell you anything and everything about the car you'd like to know. Call: 772 359 5737. REMEMBER: Good Vettes aren't CHEAP, and CHEAP Vettes aren't Good. YOU WILL NOT GET MORE CAR FOR THE MONEY. Car was appraised before I did the interior for $15k and thats what the agreed insurance value is. You CANNOT build this car for twice what I am asking. Price: US $11,000.00 |
